Woo! Today is Day 1 of Mental Health Awareness Week 2017 #MHAW2017 and the Mental Health Foundation is shaking up what they’re doing.

Instead of focusing on what mental health difficulties are or just trying to raise awareness they’re looking into why so many people with mental ill health in the UK are just about surviving and not thriving.

Why?

Well, there are more mental health professionals than ever before, more people accessing treatment than ever before and a higher percentage of people accessing help early on and these three things are what can make a huge difference between whether someone survives or thrives.

But, for some reason – people in the UK are still struggling to not only thrive but overcome their mental illness.

Having worked in the field of mental health for a fair few years now, this is something that really gets me down.

There is so much someone with a mental health difficulty can do to improve their life.

It all starts with a decision.

If you choose to improve your life – it can happen for you.

Now, once you’ve made a decision the hard work sets in!

Firstly – you’ve got to know what to do, in what order and who you can trust.

There is so much random junk out there on the internet it can be so overwhelming.

This is why I’m going to try and make things easier for you.
